Why Bretton Goods?
The name of this was entirely whimsical. The Bretton Woods system was an arrangement where the US Dollar was pegged to gold, and most other currencies were pegged to the US Dollar. For a long time it kept things stable until the US ended it once and for all in 1971.
When I went through the Economist A-Z Economic Terms list, the pun struck me immediately. And so, this newsletter was born.
